Hello! My name is Jonelle Karasow, and I am the School Counselor at Ware Elementary.
I feel like I have the best job in the whole school! I have loved getting to know the students, and I am 100% committed to seeing them succeed. I am an Army spouse and really enjoy working in the military community.
Mission Statement:
The Ware Elementary School Counseling Program provides a comprehensive curriculum to meet the needs of all students. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum will address the academic, career, and personal/social/emotional needs of each student. Our school has the belief that all students can achieve and grow into life-long learners prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly diverse society.
Counseling Services:
Classroom Guidance Lessons:
I reach the whole school population through teaching classroom guidance lessons each week. Some topics covered include bullying, problem-solving steps, emotions, positive character traits, choices/consequences, etc.
Group Counseling:
Group Counseling is another way to help students grow. Topics may include friendship, social skills, anxiety, deployment, etc.
Individual Counseling:
Students may be referred for individual sessions by a teacher/administrator, parent/guardian, or self-referrals.
